• This painting came from a night when I couldn’t sleep — again. Every time I closed my eyes, the darkness turned into a nightmare. I felt trapped in my own mind, anxious, restless, unable to breathe normally. So I got out of bed and picked up my tools, hoping that maybe putting my thoughts onto a painting would quiet them.
